FMS ANNUAL CONVENTION - 2005 - FMS ANNUAL CONVENTION - 2005 - BRAND INDIA: THE NEXT LEAP ...

11th December 2005

India has had a golden past. The world has known her as 'the golden sparrow'. Blessed with bundant natural and intellectual wealth, this land always finds special mention in world history. The efforts of India Inc and Associates has ensured that the present and future are prosperous. Withstanding the cruel tests of time, overcoming the barriers of being a developing economy and putting to rest the apprehensions of lagging in the global arena, Brand India has evolved and has developed a distinct image in the global market. An economy worth over $700 billion; growing steadily at a rate of 8%; housing the world's largest middle class and adding around 30 million every year; burgeoning forex reserves in excess of $140 billion; an ever-increasing share in the world exports; leading technology and knowledge centers - all these are elements of India's multidimensional growth. But what next? Convention 2005 is a forum dedicated to thinking, discussing and evolving a solution for the 'Next' for Brand India - planned as a series of Panel Discussions to arrive at possible options available. These discussions would encompass all aspects of India's growth, the future avenues for diversification, the barriers and challenges and the possible remedies across various sectors.

Phase 1-The Vision Next
What We See India As…….
Phase one is intended to analyze Brand India and its growth from the view point of those who are known as the 'Guides of the Corporate World', i.e., the leading academicians and consultants. What will India Inc look like in the coming times? In which sectors will growth exceed expectations? Where will we lag behind? Who and what will challenge India Inc the most in the future? And of course what will be the antidote? The first phase will discuss these issues under 'We See India As…..'

Phase 2-The Money Next
India Finance: Beyond Bubbles and Booms
How robust is the financial DNA of India Inc? Has India Inc evolved beyond bull rallies and bear slumps? How attractive will we be for the FII & FDI flows tomorrow? Is a new banking revolution about to come? What holds Indian finance from taking the Escape Velocity? All these questions will become the center point of discussion in the phase two. The participants would be from the major financial players who keep a close track of the growth of the economy and the performance of India Inc with respect to financial benchmarks.

Phase 3-The Market Next
And the Future Entails……….
In Phase three the discussion will explore the paths for expanding the current market and venturing into new avenues for India Inc. Is the retail revolution about to come in India? What will the new product market look like? What new avenues will open in the Service sector? How will core sectors like Infrastructure and Energy perform? What new challenges does India Inc foresee? Phase three will aim at finding answers to these questions with the help of those who play a pivotal role in deciding the future of Corporate India.
