The Present
In keeping with tradition at FMS we sparked off yet another promising season with a Football Match between seniors and juniors.
The Hindu College grounds were set ablaze with the dynamism of juniors who were sweating it out to keep the phlegmatic and seasoned seniors at bay.
But their efforts proved futile and the final scoreline stood at 6-1 favoring the Seniors.
Sidhant Khosla and Rahul Gupta were the crowd favorites by scoring 2 goals apiece. While Ramanveer Sarao was the lone junior who prevented a complete whitewash.
Sports Quiz
With a view to enhancing knowledge amongst all and at the same time having fun we conducted a sports quiz which drew participation in large numbers.
A prelims was conducted and six teams were shortlisted to battle it out at the centre stage. Taking off his football boots and donning on his thinking cap our very own Sports Secretary Ajay Chahar played quizmaster. Questions ranged from googlies, bouncers and some beamers as well. The entire spectrum of sports right from the popular ones like cricket, football to some esoteric ones like bull fighting, curling was traversed.
Audience was as enthusiastic in answering as the participants themselves.
Intra Batch Tournaments
The various tournaments saw unprecedented participation from seniors and juniors alike. The stakes were high as the winners would go on to represent the acclaimed FMS Team. Adrenaline pumping action was witnessed as the competitive skills were displayed with rigor and passion. Women also made their presence felt by exhibiting some nail biting finishes.
Teams for the following events are in place:
- Badminton
- Basketball
- Chess
- Table Tennis
The Future
Altius 2007
For the first time in the history of FMS we plan to organize the Biggest Sports Meet ever in terms of Business School participation.
Altius will see around 2500 aspiring managers from 8 crème-de-la-crème colleges battling it out in the Sports Arena instead of the Board Room.
Through Altius we wish to bring together renowned strategists from professional sports as well as the academic arena. |
