| Dr. Mamkoottam is Professor in the area of Human Resource Management & Industrial Relations, Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) University of Delhi.
Educational Qualifications:
After a Master's degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics Dr. Mamkoottam has done his Ph.D. (Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations), University of Delhi.
Areas of Interests:
Dr. Mamkoottam's current areas of interest include Human Resource Management & Technological Change, Business Process Outsourcing and Occupational Structure.
Research & Teaching:
Dr. Mamkoottam has done extensive research work and completed several projects in the areas of Worker Trade Unionism, Managerial Unionism, Ethno-agriculture, New Technology & Human Resource Management, in India, South Asia & in Europe.
He has been teaching at the Faculty of Management Studies since 1984. Earlier he taught at the Department of Sociology, Delhi School Economics (DU), at the Sri Ram Centre for Industrial Relations & Human Resources, and was India-EEC Fellow at ESADE Business School, Barcelona in 1989-90.
Training & Consultancy:
Dr. Mamkoottam has undertaken consulting and training for many organisations including the International Labour Organisation (ILO); Nepal Industrial Relations Forum; Bangladesh Employers' Association; Skills Development Fund Sri Lanka; Ministries/ Departments/ Commissions/ Corporations of the Government of India; and for several (domestic and multi-national) companies.
Publications & Conferences:
Dr. Mamkoottam's publications include Labour and Change (Sage, 2003), Trade Unionism: Myth & Reality (Oxford University Press, 1982); and more than 25 research papers/ articles in professional journals and edited books. Dr. Mamkoottam has presented papers in several national and international conferences.
Dr. Mamkoottam has held various administrative positions in the university including, Provost International Students' House, DU; Member-Governing Bodies of DU Colleges and University Hostels; Director, Centre for Applied Behavioural Sciences & Action Research; Professor-in-Charge, FMS South Campus Centre, Member- editorial board of journals, Member - Board of research institutions and NGOs.
