| Professor of Marketing, Sales and Strategic Management in Faculty of Management Studies. He received his schooling at Mayo College, Ajmer where he graduated at the top of his class and went on to receive his baccalaureate degree, with Honours in History and Political Science, from St. Stephen's College, Delhi. He obtained his Master's degree in Business Administration, with distinction, from the University of Delhi and his terminal doctoral degree (Ph.D.), within a record three and a half year time frame, from the University of South Carolina at Columbia (USA). He is also a distinguished honours graduate of the elite Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie, India.
Professor Kapur was selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1977 and has held multiple appointments at the state and central levels in India while a member of the service. A recipient of four commendations for outstanding work from the Government of India and the Government of Bihar, Professor Kapur pursued research/teaching in American academia, while on leave from the IAS from 1991 onwards. He left the IAS in 1998 to pursue a full time career in higher education, both in the USA and in India. He has written two books on issues of governance (published by Simon and Schuster) and has over thirty published monographs, with his writings on issues connected with Politics, International Relations and International Management among others, being published in the UK, USA and in India His seminal monographs outlining educational challenges in the post WTO world titled 'Education Sans Frontieres:Yankee Cola or Knowledge Vaccine' and 'Barriers and Challenges to Communication in the Post 9/11 World', among others, have been reprinted multiple times. His next book titled ' Catch the Ball Before It Falls: Managing Time for Success in the Twenty First Century' will be published in India by the end of 2005.
