FMS was founded in 1954 and was the first institute in India to offer management training for professional managers . FMS built its reputation by the practical approach to teaching theory grounded in real-world application.
FMS is among the few B Schools where every permanent faculty member is a PhD FMS boasts of 27 permanent fulltime faculty one of the highest student faculty ratio in the country of about 3:1.The pedagogy is determined by the faculty which is a mixture of case studies , lectures and role plays making learning interactive and intense .The faculty is also involved in various consultancy programmes and MDPs.
Every student in FMS is a part of Management Science Association (MSA) , a student body comprising different panels focusing upon distinct functional areas of interest. The meeting of minds , ideas and theories takes place in societies and teams where presentations ignite minds , briefs become springboards for path breaking strategy and teams comes up with creative ideas. Active societies and an interactive MSA makes it compulsory for students to go through grind of relationships making student student covalent bonds stronger there by polishing the team skills and attitudes.
Interactive interactions which promote dialogue between trailblazer and students are a part of FMS culture. In addition to constant Guest Lectures that impart industry knowledge to the students the annual convention provides an interface between the stalwarts of the corporate world , the academicians and management students.
Last 50 years has seen FMS creating managers who have within themselves the mettle to take on the challenges of the future - people with the vision, knowledge and potential to thrive in a dynamic ever changing environment. People with the ability and skill sets to drive key initiatives within organizations , men and women of leadership and integrity who are making a difference in business organizations , communities and institutions all over the globe.
