FMS MBA Placement
Report
Final Placements 2009: Braving the
odds
Against the backdrop of the global economic
slowdown, Faculty of Management Studies, New Delhi managed
to complete a very creditable placement process for the batch
of 2009. Although the process stretched much longer in duration
as compared to the preceding years, FMS provided 100% placements
to all entitled students of the graduating batch.
With 89 students in the MBA course and 42 students in MBA-MS
to place, FMS ended the process with a domestic average of
INR 11.47 lakhs per annum for MBA and INR
11.15 lakhs per annum for MBA-MS. Although the average
saw a significant drop (around 20% for both batches combined)
as compared to the previous year, it was very respectable
considering the current economic situation.
The highest domestic package was INR 19 lakhs
per annum for a student from the MBA course.

Final Word
The Final Placements were certainly hit by the prevailing
economic meltdown, but FMS ensured that the batch of 2009
left the college with a smile on its face. As Prof. Madhu
Vij, Convenor, Placement Committee succinctly put it, “The
Final Placements 2009 have yet again proven that FMS is more
than capable of standing its ground in the face of extreme
challenges. With the global economic slowdown hitting all
B-School placements, it was essential to ensure that there
was no compromise made in the profiles offered and that the
students get into the sectors of their choice. The placements
statistics of 2009, although not as spectacular as the past
year’s, reflect the strong grounding and preparation
that goes into every process at FMS and have helped maintain
the status of FMS as one of the leading campuses in India.” |
