QUEST 2004 - The Marketing Case Study Challenge         Results

What is this all about?

The Marketing society of FMS is organizing Quest- a case study competition as a successor to the hugely successful Think 2003. This year it is being organized on an even grander scale than ever before and we invite minds courageous enough to take up this challenge.

We welcome solutions that reflect keen analytical skills, originality of thought, and the ability to think beyond established frameworks realistically.

We intend this to be an intellectual odyssey – a heady amalgam of understanding, questioning, discovering and ingenuity – culminating in the final presentation of solutions at FMS in January.

We believe that this journey is likely to be as rewarding as, if not much more than the ultimate destination.

Who can take part?

1. Team Size is a maximum of two members.
2. There is no limit on the number of entries per institute.
3. The competition is open only to Business School students.

What are the rules for submission?

1. Only one submission per team is allowed.
2. The length of the solution can be up to a maximum of 3000 words.
3. The format is Verdana, font size 11 of single spacing.
4. The Cover Page should have the following details:
      a. Full Names of the team members
      b. E Mail addresses of the team members
      c. Name of the Institute
      d. Full Postal Address of the team members
5. You are not allowed to write your name or any other identification at any place other than the cover page.
6. Include page numbers on all pages excluding the cover page.

How should I submit my solution?

1. The submission has to be in the form of a soft copy. It has to be mailed at quest@fms.edu
2. A Soft Copy (.doc format) to be sent as an email attachment to the email address as mentioned. The main body of the mail should contain the details of the participant (name, institute name, contact address & telephone number).
3. Soft copies must be mailed to quest@fms.edu with the subject as “quest_collegename_(one of the team member’s name)”.
4. Two Hard copies to be sent by post/courier along with personal details, a photograph, a copy of their institute I-card and the 300 word executive summary along with the entry.

What are the deadlines?

1. Deadline for receiving soft copies: 25 December 2003
2. Deadline for receiving hard copies: 27 December 2003
3. Announcement of final five teams: 12 January 2004

What will the evaluation be like?

1. The judging would be done by the faculty of FMS Delhi.
2. The decision of the jury would be binding on all the participants.

What are the prizes like?

1. All the finalists will be given AC 3 Tier fare to come and make the final presentation at the FMS Campus in front of the jury. They will also be provided accommodation during the course of their stay.
2. The prize money is as follows:
      a. 1st Prize: Rs. 20,000
      b. 2nd Prize: Rs 10,000
3. The winning entry as per the evaluation of the jury will be published in the Markazine: The Marketing magazine of FMS Delhi.
