The major new initiatives of the Consulting Club in 2009-10 were:
1. The consulting cub also publishes Consilium, a quarterly magazine and Contraband which throws light on specific sectors such as power, real estate, etc. These are circulated amongst the students to give them insights and a clearer perspective about the industry.

2. The club also organizes workshops and case based interviews for its students, for which prestigious alumni are invited to the institution. Such alumni include Mr. Gyanesh Sinha, (2010 FMS Alumnus), at E&Y India, Mr. Tarun Arora (2008 FMS Alumnus), PriceWaterHouse Coopers.
3. The Consulting Club was also proud to present an international Live Project in association with Grow Volunteers

Live Projects
Another area of seminal interest for FMS is case studies and live projects. FMS Consulting Club has partnered with firms like Porsche and Aviva to have students take up Live Projects for these firms. These projects provide an immense learning and practical exposure to our students, besides providing an opportunity for companies to tap the wealth of talent at FMS and help gain a new and incisive perspective on complex problems. It allows you to gain access and assess the students who are interested in the work offered by your organization. It's a win-win situation for both the parties as firms can use live projects to outsource some of the work they are engaged in and on which they can't focus immediately. These projects vary in scope and topics and may involve collecting, analyzing and interpreting data on people, processes, strategies or markets. Typical project duration could vary from a few weeks to 2-3 months.

Guest Lectures
Guest Lectures provide our students the opportunity to interact with executives from the leading organizations in India today. Sharing your immense knowledge can be your greatest gift to our students, the future business leaders. Some of the recently conducted guest lectures included those from Mr. Ranjit Shastri, MD of PSi, former consultant with McKinsey & Company; Prof. Pradeep Dubey of Yale University; Prof Prasad a former faculty at SUNY Stone Brook University.
